PEARL are the only gem created by living animal, used in jewelley from centuries,here are the some interesting facts may be u not know;-
                                       

                  

• fACT 1:-PEARL is the only GeM created by a living animal called OYSTER or mollusk
• fACT 2:- nny MOLLUSK which has a shell can also create a PEARL , but they are often created by mollusk which has 2 shells.
• fACT 3:- for making cultured PEARL a liitle foreign object or seed implanted in the shell, then the mollusk coat the seed with a material called "NACRE" to protect himself ,which transform seed in to pearl in time.
• fACT 4:- PEARL are produced in salt water or fresh water, but approximately 95% of total pearl"s are freshwater PEARL, but are less valuable then saltwater PEARL.
• fACT 5:-OYSTERS which made PEARL are also used for their hard shell and meat
• from 15th to 17th century, mostly all people believed that the PEARL is actually oyster"s egg
• fACT 6:- Mostly oysters die after PEARL extraction, but there are also mussels which remain alive after the removal of PEARL and then use for produce more PEARL
• fACT 7:- The saltwater pearls extracted from OYSTER"S ,and freshwater PEARL are collected from mussels
• fACT 8:- PEARL are found in varieties of colours like white,pink,ivory black,purple and GOLD
• fACT 9:- Not even single PEARL is perfect, every PEARL has imperfection in it,
• fACT 10:- Culured pearl farming is called "PERICULTURE"
• fACT 11:- for produce a single PEARL it often takes few month to few years depending on condition of water and size or type of the mollousk
• fACT 12:- Mostaly 95 % of all world produced pearls are "cultured pearl"
• fACT 13:- it"s very rare to find a PEARL of large size that forms naturally
• fACT 14:- low grade PEARL are used to make cosmatics
• fACT 15:- All pearl OYSTERS are male by born. and around three year of there age they transform into FEMALES.
